Workers Get Ripped Off

in

I just read an article by Liz Wolgemuth with the name: “How the Lowest Paid Workers Get Ripped Off” (click here to read). She states that the lowest paid workers in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York get ripped off by not receiving all the money they earned. I know this is wrong, because workers get ripped off everywhere, not only in big cities, but also in suburbs.

My friend used to work at Burger King and they constantly underpaid him, so he just quit. Then he got a job at Walgreen’s and the manager made him work half an hour off the clock to make the store look neat. What can you do about this when you really need the job? I think that so many businesses have no idea about ethical behavior nowadays, because they treat the whole general public like crap. They take our taxes to bonus each other, they underpay the poorest workers (who usually have the hardest job), and then they try to kill us with their genetically engineered food.

I have no idea how regular people can fight back against that and the situation will probably get a lot worse since the big companies keep on getting more money and more power. I am absolutely pro-market and the invisible hand, because the government should not control the economy and businesses. The problem is that these businesses stick their nose too often into the government and try to control it with their fancy corruption and their arrogant lobbyists. Unions don’t even help anymore, because they are just collecting money and waiting for “jobs” to come back that are long gone.

How are people that earn $7 an hour but get paid $5 supposed to live when prices are rising? This story just shows that minimum wage is not helping, because tricky businesses will find other ways to get their money back. I hope they will uncover the truth and that the businesses will have to pay all the money back and huge fines on top of that. Maybe they should just take the entrepreneurs license away for doing bad business and give the facilities and equipment to somebody who is able to do business in a good way.

If I would steal $20,000 from a person, I would go to a nasty jail for a long time, but these people steal $20,000 (for example) from each worker during their lifetime of working for a company and they get promoted… Welcome in hell, America.
